From Refuge Salvin we climb up Pathway 408 to the junction with Pathway 408/A and we return to bypass 2B under Alpe Pertus (or we can climb from the Refuge along Pathway 407 to the junction with Pathway 322, coasting Monastero Lake and joining the route along the mountain ridge near the Alpe di Coassolo) continuing along the grassy slope to the weather station, near the Alpe di Costapiana 2046 m. Here we join the dirt track from Chiaves and continuing a little we reach Alpe di Coassolo 2032 m (water supply - 1 hour from the crossroads). Then we take the diversion to the right along a rut that then becomes a pathway halfway up the hill to the Colle della Gavietta, continue along the slopes of Monte Marsé and finally reach Monte Bellavarda 2345 m along its southern slope, where we will be rewarded with a breath-taking view (2 hours from Alpe di Coassolo). Descending along the northern ridge (particular care necessary in bad weather as the stretch is very steep, difficulty EE) we reach the Colle della Paglia 2151 m. Continuing along a stretch of flat trail we then descend to the left to Alpe Paglia Superiore 1850 m, then we turn right and reach Alpe Ciavanis just above the Sanctuary of the same name, another panoramic viewpoint. (1 hour 45 minutes from Monte Bellavarda). Tents required for an overnight stay, water found nearby. Alternatively, from Alpe Paglia, we can follow route 326 down to the Farmhouse in Vonzo di Chialamberto
