With the “Walking among the clouds” project, the Gran Paradiso National Park promotes a gentle mobility, regulating private car traffic in the summer along the road that leads to Colle del Nivolet, favoring travel on foot, by bike and by shuttle (with departure from Ceresole Reale and numerous stops along the route): from July11th to August 29th 2021, every Sunday and on the Mid-August Holiday, from 9.30am to 6pm, there is a ban on motorized vehicles starting from the small hamlet Serrù.
The Nivolet is a splendid plateau of peat bogs and humid environments at an altitude of 2,500m, habitat of ibex, chamois, marmots, stoats, foxes and rare species of flora: without the air pollution and noise produced by cars, these environments are a true paradise, with landscapes, scents and colors that have nothing to envy distant destinations. Today, “Walking among the clouds” is ever-more a representation of a “philosophy”, a way of experiencing the Park in the name of gentle tourism, a way of discovering beautiful and unspoiled places on tiptoe, via a more sustainable mobility.
A rich schedule of events invites you to discover the protected area as the ideal place for a “sustainable” holiday in contact with nature: guided excursions, exhibitions, historical commemorations and theatrical performances, concerts and tastings of local products with the Park guides, hotels, refuges, restaurants, artisans and typical products of the territory.
