Starting from Ronco Canavese, near the Rest Home, we follow the directions to Nivolastro where we find the mule track that climbs steeply up into the woodland of larch trees and red oaks, first along the River and then on rocky crags with a view over the entire valley. We then pass northwards through Nivolastro until we find the pathway that, to the right, descends to Chiapetto. Keeping left, we continue through the wood, first climbing then descending down to the River Chiapetto where, having climbed back up the opposite bank, we reach Andorina, a small, now abandoned village overlooking the main valley. From here, the pathway steeply descends to the Provincial Road where, after a few hundred metres of asphalt, we reach Chiesale. From Chiesale the Pathway extends along the steep left orographic slope of the
Campiglia Valley, through enchanting beech groves with some majestic specimens. Here we can see small openings that break into the slope, where coal was once produced. The landscape opens up, having reached the small hollow of Campiglia, with a view over the high Campiglia Valley, over the Piano dell’Azaria. Here we descend gradually and a pedestrian walkway leads us to Campiglia, where you can find accommodation at the Stage Post in the inhabited centre. Having climbed back up the pasture land in front of Campiglia, on the left bank, the pathway starts to climb again, soon reaching Case Pugnon, where we join the pathway that climbs to San Besso after an initial stretch along the path to Azaria. Along the way are a number of votive chapels, due to our proximity to the Sanctuary of S. Besso. In San Besso the Stage Post Refuge Bausano can be found near the Sanctuary.
